About the Maker

Our studio in Washington DC focuses on functional ceramics: planters that are beautiful and practical. We work with stoneware and terracotta clays, hand-building and wheel-throwing forms that suit modern and classic spaces. Every piece is made in small batches so we can control quality and offer custom options.

How We Make Our Planters

Every ceramic and terracotta planter we sell starts with raw clay. We hand-build and wheel-throw forms in our Washington DC studio, then dry and fire them in a kiln. Terracotta is left unglazed so it stays breathable; stoneware pieces can be glazed on the inside for durability while keeping a matte exterior. We focus on clean shapes and consistent quality so each piece works in a variety of settings. Custom orders allow you to choose dimensions and finishes. Because we work in small batches, we can control every step and ensure that your planter meets our standards before it leaves the studio. We are happy to explain the process in more detail and to discuss lead times for standard and custom pieces. Quality and Sustainability

We believe in making planters that last. Our clay is sourced with care, and we avoid waste in the studio by reusing and recycling where possible. Every piece is inspected before it leaves our hands, and we stand behind the quality of our work. When you buy from us, you support a small local business and get a product that can serve you for years. We offer repair and refinishing for select items, and we are always happy to answer questions about care and longevity. Our Washington DC location makes it easy to visit, see the process, and take home a planter that fits your space and style. Whether you are new to ceramic planters or adding to a growing collection, we are here to help you find the right piece and to share what we know about keeping it in great shape.
